Thermoformed In-Mould Labelling

As food manufacturers look to balance shelf impact, sustainability, and production efficiency, packaging formats are evolving rapidly. Traditional polypropylene IML tubs and thermoformed pots with applied labels or cardboard sleeves can deliver strong branding, but often come with higher material usage, added complexity for consumers, and higher cost.

Thermoformed In-Mould Labelling (T-IML) offers a modern alternative, combining high-quality decoration with lightweight design and improved recyclability, while supporting efficient production and simplified supply chains.

The Brief

What the client was looking for

Manufacturers required a packaging solution that delivered strong on-shelf presence while reducing material usage and improving sustainability credentials. The brief called for a lightweight alternative to conventional PP IML and sleeved thermoformed pots, without compromising visual quality or performance.

Key requirements included a film-sealable format, a mono-material end product, and improved recyclability for consumers.

The Solution

What did we provide?

Innavisions’ Thermoformed IML range delivers a lightweight, mono-material packaging solution that combines the pot and decoration into a single unit. By integrating the label directly into the thermoforming process, the finished pack requires no label or sleeve removal, making it easier for consumers to recycle and improving end-of-life outcomes.

The packs are film sealable and can be produced using PP. Compared to traditional injection moulded PP IML, T-IML significantly reduces material usage while maintaining strong structure and durability.

Available in 150g, 200g, 300g, and 400g formats, Thermoformed IML provides a scalable, cost-effective solution that delivers vibrant print quality, strong shelf presence, and improved recyclability for modern food brands.
